Romax joined a select number of companies at the Taiwan Business
Alliance Conference on 19th October during which the signing of a
historic letter of intent with the Taiwanese Minister for Economic
Affairs, Minister Shih Yen-Shiang, took place. The letter of intend
covers economic and technological collaboration in Taiwan. The signing
ceromony was resided over by President Ma Ying-Jeou, who greeted each of
the representatives personally.


During the Taiwan Business Alliance Conference President Ma
Ying-jeou pointed out Taiwan's four major
advantages as an investment destination:
- A dual engine of investment and exports
- Good investment
climate
- Unlimited potential following the signing of the
cross-strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA)
- Timing for investing in Taiwan
Romax was represented by it's director for South Asian Operations,
Mr. Daniel Poon, who commented: "Taiwan is situated strategically between
China, South East Asia and the West. The recent trade agreement between China
and Taiwan has had a significant impact on Taiwan's trading position, of
which this Letter of Intent is a good example".
The letter of intent represents Romax's commitment to expand and
invest in Taiwan's gearbox, bearing and driveline industry and cooperate
and engage further with The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan,
Republic of China (MOEA).
