Project Example - Romax and B9 Energy Deliver End of Warranty Service
Romax and B9 Energy
recently partnered to deliver an end of warranty inspection for 44 x
2MW class wind turbines in the mid west, USA. The scope of work was broad
and included vibration and SCADA health assessments, blade inspections,
generator electrical tests, turbine walk down inspections, main gearbox
borescoping and oil and grease sampling.
Widespread issues identified included blade damage, missing vortex
generators, cracks on many intermediate shaft bearings, macropitting and
micropitting of the planet stage and poor insulation on the generator
junction box. 
The wind farm had CMS equipment installed, and so Romax was able to extract
all the raw data and perform a detailed condition monitoring health
assessment with advanced software. The inspection reports are
supporting the owner with the warranty claims.
