Romax Technology Limited, a leading technical consultancy providing design and analysis services for gearboxes, bearings and drivetrains is pleased to announce the appointment of Graeme Walford to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Walford, who took up his position at the beginning of 2010, will be supporting CEO Dr Poon with his future ambitious growth plans for the company.
Walford has an impressive track record at driving growth in technical engineering companies. As a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Loughborough University, Walford is no stranger to the world of transmission design. Walford began his career with Rolls Royce before moving to MascoTech as Engineering Director. In 1999 Walford joined GKN Driveline where he set up the new GKN Torque Technology business unit which he grew to have a turnover of £300 million a year.
Walford brings with him a unique blend of engineering and extensive business experience. Despite its rapid growth and incredible success, Romax is still a relatively small company with ambitious plans for the future.
“There are tremendous opportunities for Romax, not only within its core business streams, automotive and wind energy, but in many other new areas,” explained Walford. “I hope that through the experience and knowledge I have gained throughout my career I can help Romax in the next phase of their development, maintaining leadership throughout their core business, but also spreading expertise into new areas, which I believe is the next big step for Romax in the future.”
