CEO of Romax Technology, Dr Peter Poon, delivered a speech on the importance for UK businesses to develop and maintain relationships with Asian market’s at the recent launch of Nottingham University’s new Asia Business Centre.
Speakers at the launch showcased the full scope of the new approach to the University’s business facing programmes in Asia which will be undertaken by the Asia Business Centre and Romax was invited to speak on their considerable experience on trading and partnering with Asian organisations.
Dr Poon provided a summary of Romax’s long history of working with Asia, and the many benefits those partnerships have afforded the Nottingham based engineering software and consultancy company.
Romax’s success in Asian markets has impacted greatly on the company’s turnover, and contributed to the trebling of exports within 6 years, for which the company received the Queens Award for Enterprise. However, Dr Poon also stressed the influence of Romax’s interaction with Asia on the company’s ambitions, product development, market knowledge and culture.
The Asia Business Centre, based at the Jubilee Campus, will coordinate and develop and grow the University’s many education, research and business activities, strengthening its solid connections with Asia-Pacific institutions and business. It is hoped Romax will be one of the many Nottingham based organisations that will benefit from the Asia Business Centre’s network and support.
