Romax has been invited, by the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, to speak at their International Electric Vehicle Technology Innovation and Development Forum 2009 being held in Chongqing, China on 23rd October. Romax’s Director of Transport, Younsu Park will be delivering a presentation on hybrid energy, as part of the automotive energy efficiency and emission reduction subject area. Romax received this invitation as a result of their in-depth knowledge of the automotive industry and their growing expertise within hybrid technology. Romax has already been playing an active role in supporting the hybrid industry in China and has been at the frontline of bridging the gap between international and domestic cooperation. Recently, Romax welcomed a delegation of Chinese businessmen from within the powertrain departments of major OEMs for a seminar as part of a collaboration with the Department of UK Trade and Investment and The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Limited (SMMT). In addition, Romax were also involved in welcoming engineers as part of a three-day visit to the UK organised by the Society of Automotive Engineers for China and the China Gear Manufacturers Association. Leading Romax engineers gave a series of presentations to a delegation of senior figures from China’s automotive companies on a number of automotive engineering technology issues including hybrid.
The presentation, to be delivered by Younsu Park at this Forum, will be titled “Hybrid energy flow technology and the design of hybrid drive systems. ” The main benefit promised by many hybrid vehicles is a significant reduction in fuel consumption, but many fail to deliver this end result. In the presentation from Romax, Younsu Park will demonstrate to engineers how it is possible to achieve the goal of reduced fuel consumption across the whole driveline. While the variety of hybrid configurations available making optimisation a complex process, the presentation from Romax will help to drive engineers towards more efficient solutions by giving insight into Romax’s energy flow analysis methodology and recent research.
Younsu Park, Director of Transport at Romax, said, “Romax is honoured to have been invited to the forum to share our experience on energy flow analysis and I hope this presentation will support engineers in understanding how energy flow reacts to changes across the whole driveline. It is extremely encouraging to see that Chinese industry officials have are exploring this technology in more detail and this forum provides us with a great opportunity to share our knowledge and skills with other engineers.”
Younsu Park will be amongst a number of experts from international institutions, global organisations and enterprises that will share their know-how during the two day forum. Other participants will include leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of Peoples Republic of China and the Chongqing government.
