Romax present at China Gear Manufacturers Association’s 20th Anniversary Conference

Romax Technology was invited, by the China Gear Manufacturers Association (CGMA), to speak at their Annual Conference in Suzhou, China. The conference, which was held on the 24th November, featured Romax’s Matt Rozyn, Regional Engineering Manager for Test and Manufacturing, who delivered a presentation on industry standards affecting wind turbine gearbox design and certification.

Romax also delivered a presentation on behalf of the British Gears Association outlining their current activities with the aim of providing the international audience with more information on the BGA and helping to foster more global cooperation. The BGA are also holding their annual conference this week on 26 November at which Romax will be delivering the keynote presentation.

Romax has been playing an active role in supporting the wind energy industry in China. The CGMA invited Romax to deliver a presentation at this event following successful collaborations together earlier this year and in recognition of Romax’s in-depth knowledge of the wind industry as well as their growing expertise within wind turbine gearboxes design and certification.

The presentation was titled “Wind Turbine Gearbox Design”, and focused on the operational and technological issues facing wind turbine gearbox design as well as the commercial and industrial issues such as supply chain issues and achieving certification. The final section of the presentation focused on the intensive simulation work Romax has conducted for many organisations to overcome such challenges and issues.

Dr. Peter Poon, CEO at Romax, said, “Romax is honoured to have been invited to deliver a presentation at the CGMA’s annual conference and even more so in their 20th Anniversary year. I hope the presentation provided support to engineers in understanding the issues that affect wind turbine gearbox design and certification and how they can overcome these challenges. This conference has provided us with a great opportunity to share our knowledge and skills with other engineers.”
