Romax nominated for the UKTI East Midlands International Business Award

Romax has been chosen as an award finalist in the fourth annual UKTI East Midlands International Business Awards. Romax has been shortlisted in two categories, China and Worldwide, in the Established Exporter Award. The winners will be announced at a ceremony, sponsored by East Midlands China Business Bureau (EMCBB) and The East Midlands India Business Bureau (EMIBB) at the Leicester Marriott Hotel on Thursday 26th November.

As a technical solutions and software provider for both the transport and energy industries, Romax has found their expertise in the design and analysis of gearboxes, bearings and drivetrains in increasing demand. As a result in the past 12 months China has made up over a third of the company’s global sales and has led to the opening of 3 new offices in China; in Hangzhou, Chongqing and Beijing.

With offices spanning Europe, South Korea, India, the USA, Japan and China, Romax recognize the need for a strategic approach for each international market. A key element of this is the need for a high level of customer support both throughout the design process from pre-sales to after sales support. Often this support needs to be available to the customer within their own territory. Romax has actively sought native speaking and foreign nationals from the key territories they work within with the relevant skills and experience to ensure they can deliver the highest level of customer support and this has been vital to Romax’s global success.

Dr. Peter Poon, Chief Executive of Romax Technology, said, “To be nominated for the Established Exporter award in both the China and Worldwide categories is a great achievement for us. The last twelve months has seen a huge demand for our products and services all over the world, especially in China. However, this award also recognises the achievements Romax has made in developing strong relationships with key organisations in each of the countries we operate in.”

“The Established Exporter Award acknowledges how the nominees have demonstrated an innovative and strategic approach that enables them to enter the markets and how they have adapted products and services to meet local and cultural needs. I believe, this sums up perfectly the way in which we have gone about growing our business. We have entered new territories and ensured that we have adapted to meet the demands of the local market," concluded Dr Poon.
