Romax recently delivered a one day seminar in Beijing titled “Lifecycle Management of Wind Turbine Drivetrains” to key organisations in the Chinese wind energy industry. Over 200 delegates from 90 wind energy companies attended to share in Romax’s expertise in drivetrain simulation and design, fault diagnosis and operations and maintenance, making it one of Romax's best attended events ever.
A programme of presentations from Romax’s wind energy engineering team covered a wide variety of issues, including supply chain, accurate analysis, drivetrain dynamics, future technology trends, and the new IEC 61400-4 standards for gearbox design. The programme also included a high level lunch meeting with representatives from UKTI and the British embassy in Beijing to discussed the continued partnership between Chinese and UK wind energy companies.

The seminar was held in conjunction with the China Wind Power event, and is part of a series of seminars displaying Romax’s commitment to sharing technical innovation for the advancement of drivetrain, gearbox and bearing design in the wind energy industry.
Following the seminar, a press conference was held announcing Romax’s recent successes in China. The outcomes of a recent a technology transfer programme with Chongqing Wangjiang Industrial Co. Ltd were announced, detailing the successful GL A-DA certification of both 1.5MW and 2MW wind turbine gearboxes. Details were also release of a strategic alliance agreement between Romax and CSR Qishuyan Institute Co., Ltd who will now work together on a 5MW gearbox design.
