Romax Technology held a one day seminar in Beijing recently, prior to the Wind Power Asia 2009 Exhibition that saw over 120 delegates from 68 companies and organisations attend. Feedback from delegates was very positive with the majority confirming they would like to attend future Romax Technology seminars.
The seminar used the work from the involvement of Romax Technology in the US NREL Gearbox Reliability Collaborative to demonstrate developments in technology and the use of RomaxWIND software in wind turbine gearbox, drivetrain and bearing design and analysis. Romax also invited world renowned bearing and lubrication system manufacturers to take part and provide an overview of technical issues related to the application and selection of bearings and lubrication.
Delegates came from a wide range of companies representing the industrial base in China for wind turbine gearbox, drivetrain and bearing design, manufacturing, certification, maintenance and condition monitoring. They included wind turbine manufacturers, gearbox design and manufacturing companies, bearing companies, research institutes and universities, Chinese certification organisations and wind farm operators.
The seminar provided a platform for discussions amongst the broad spectrum of organisations. Based on feedback gathered at the event, Romax will continue to develop the seminar series and will also look to providing smaller regional workshops to match the requirements of customers and partners in different regions of China.
