Romax Showcase New Efficiency Module and Low Carbon Technology at JSAE

Romax Technology will be attending the JSAE Automotive Engineering Exposition in Yokohama, Japan in May this year.  The world leading independent drivetrain consultants will be present at this event for the fifth year running and for 2011 they will be showcasing the new Efficiency Module for RomaxDesigner as well as their latest developments in low carbon technology to an audience of leading automotive engineers and designers.

Queen’s Award Winners Romax will be hosting a stand in the Exposition, where there will be opportunities for potential and existing customers to discuss the latest applications of Romax’s unique software, RomaxDesigner.  In particular, the new Efficiency Module and how it can assist in meeting the growing demands for reduced CO2 emissions through efficiency within the automotive industry. During the three day event there will also be an opportunity for visitors to the Romax stand to listen to a presentation from Hiroshi Koyama, Assistant Engineering Manager on Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Optimisation at 11.30am on each day of the event.

The presentation will discuss how, historically, transmission design methodologies have limited engineers to consider factors such as durability and efficiency independently if at all.  Technology now allows us to consider efficiency in parallel with durability. Having already tackled system analysis of durability and NVH, Romax will discuss how they are now working focusing on efficiency within the design process for transmissions. The presentation will also look at recent developments in RomaxDesigner and how it allows manufacturers to reduce CO2 emissions and development lead times by ensuring optimal and efficient performance of all key components.

Romax’s capabilities enables manufacturers to see the combined effect that individual components within a driveline are having – something that has yet to be rivalled in the current market. In hybrid vehicles, for example, manufacturers can use this tool to identify which component to prioritise for modification. This allows them to understand the most productive way to modify the component and ultimately improve the fuel consumption of a vehicle by minimizing performance losses resulting in more power to the wheels.

"Low carbon and efficiency technology will be the key theme for this year’s JSAE event and one which Romax is well placed to talk about. We have a lot of new consultancy and technological developments in this area that we are keen to share with the Japanese Automotive industry,” explains Younsu Park, Director for Transportation at Romax Technology. “This event provides the perfect opportunity for us to interact with key people within the automotive engineering community.”

Visitors will also be able to discuss any of Romax’s services in more detail with key members of staff including Koichi Hioki, Japan Business Manager, Joowon Kim, Engineering Manager and Hiroshi Koyama, Assistant Manager of Engineering.
