Graduate Software Developer

Summary: An excellent opportunity for a bright, recent graduate or PhD to join a ‘green tech’ company and work in the R&D team.


Due to our continued growth we are seeking a bright Graduate Software Developer to work in our Hybrids R&D team. You will be a talented individual with raw talent, strong problem solving skills and a desire for understanding & solving unique problems within a development environment.

As part of a multi-disciplinary, agile team you will work with our mechanical engineers and other software developers to discuss and refine requirements, propose and code solutions and finally test the code with the engineers. Some of the challenges are:
  • 3-D visualization of complex data
  • Novel processing of large data sets
  • Creating intuitive GUI’s for technical data.
You will be trained by other software developers on our unique agile approach to software development, and the use of our Smalltalk development environment. Once trained, there are other opportunities to progress in our wider software development team.

You will be degree qualified in a computer science or related degree with strong all round coding and test skills. You should have exposure to at least one OO language such as Java, Python, Smalltalk or Ruby, and preferably some skills in C and C++ and web technologies such as HTML, CSS.
