Sales Manager - Wind Energy (US Wind Technical Office)

Help a business with double digit growth every year expand in the US market in the areas of wind turbine gearbox design, drivetrain consulting, field and owner/operator support and wind turbine R&D.

The Role

To help grow the Romax USA business unit for wind engineering to a position as the leading consultancy for all mechanical systems and driveline engineering in this industry.

You will help drive sales for a new business unit and many responsibilities and objectives will be self- driven. You will report to the Engineering Director of the Romax USA Wind Technical Center and help to ensure the business unit becomes an independent profit center for the company.

The role will require considerable travel in order to meet targets and ensure excellent customer relations. Attending key industry events and visiting customers is a core responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, forecast and schedule engineering resources both externally and from other internal teams in order to support growing business demand.
  • Manage relationships with existing customers and work to acquire new customers with challenging targets.
  • Become familiar with company technology, the latest developments and capabilities and recent projects in the global business. Understand the latest proposals and strategies in the global business.
  • Help ensure that Romax becomes the market leader for driveline in the wind energy sector in the USA.
  • Regularly furnish the board with accurate business activity reports with plans and forecasts for revenue, resource, customers and opportunity updates.

Candidate Requirements

  • You will need to be degree qualified with an engineering or science background, with some experience in the wind energy field.
  • You will also have a proven track record of successful business development, be able to meet the challenge of setting up a new business area, coping with fluid objectives and resource management.
  • You will need to be confident to handle a sales role in a complex and fluid technical consulting business where new technologies and business offerings are continuously developed.
