Romax Technology releases Service Pack 1 for RomaxDesigner R12.6.
We are pleased to announce the launch of RomaxDesigner R12.6 service pack 1. The service pack for our latest release 12.6 includes new modules for advanced bearings and gearbox efficiency. Users will also benefit from a host of other new features and improvements.
C11-9 Advanced Spherical Roller Bearing Module is new for service pack 1 and takes into account the profiling effect of the bearing roller and raceways. These have a great effect on the advanced life of the bearing, the stress distribution of the contact and load zone factor. New module S09-2 for gearbox efficiency has been added and includes a new gear drag feature, allowing users to determine power losses from individual gears. Users can also determine the overall efficiency of the gearbox and which components are having the most effect on it.
The G11-3 Helical Gear Micro-Geometry Analysis Module has been improved and now includes a new option to allow tip and root relief to be applied at the base circle and tip chamfer diameter. This allows easier conversion between engineering drawings and RomaxDesigner definitions. The S11-1 Housing Influence and S11-2 Structural Flexibility modules have also been improved and now give users the option to include the mass of FE components in gravity calculations.
Other new features include: gear misalignment contribution calculations, gear initial rotation errors, and 3D results scaling factor and colour scales. The analysis setting 'Use gear mesh rotation mismesh analysis' has been added to allow gears to be rotated on their mounting shaft away from their nominal calculated rotations, and take into account gear initial rotation errors. This allows the user to simulate the effects of manufacturing errors when two planet gears are on a single planet shaft.
