4th European Technology Conference, 25 & 26 September 2007, Cologne, Germany
The 4th Romax European Technology Conference, held in Cologne, was a great success, attracting many automotive and wind energy OEM and Tier 1 suppliers that were interested in finding out more about Romax, networking with Romax experts, fellow users and peers, and learning how others use the software to solve their problems.
The conference opened with an insightful talk by Dr Peter Poon, CEO, Romax Technology on how to intelligently harness the increasing power of computers for engineering design. This was followed with a keynote presentation by Professor Dr. Kristina Shea from TU Munich about Next Generation Computer Aided Tools for Concept Phases. The first day focused on user presentations from Antonov Automotive, NKE Austria, Getrag Ford, INTEC, Carraro, Mitsubishi Motors.
The networking continued into the evening with a traditional Bavarian feast near the famous DOM cathedral in Cologne.
The second day opened with a keynote presentation from Professor Dr.-Ing Höhn Head of 6 ISO TC 60 Working Group on the Calculation of Gears entitled Future Requirements to Gearbox Layout, giving an introduction into new approaches for future gear design to reduce noise and vibration caused by transmission error. The rest of the day focused on Romax presentations and demonstrations with topics such as NVH, durability and reliability and software interfaces.
Many attendees have already expressed their interest in attending again next year, and have requested a variety of topics which they would like to learn more about in the 2008 User Conference. Quotes about the 2007 conference include:
